Perspective
I took this shot right after my traveling group had a dinner and wine tasting with our gracious French host Hélène. Her flat overlooked this cobbled street, where the buildings are dressed with beautiful flower boxes.
Eiffel Tower in the Fog
A shot of the tower on a drizzly, foggy day in Paris. If you look closely enough, you can see the names of French scientists and mathematicians engraved just below the first deck of the tower.
Joséphine's Billiards Table
This is the billiards table in Joséphine's manor, Château de Malmaison, just outside of Paris. Joséphine, who was Napoléon Bonaparte's wife, was apparently quite fond of the game of billiards.
The Louvre
Subway Car, Odéon Métro
This was one of my favorite stations in the Paris Métro System.
Sleeping Boy on a Train
Just a boy sleeping to pass the time during the trip from Paris to Avignon. I was on my way to spend 4 days touring the Provence region of France.
Panthéon in Sunset
The Panthéon in the Latin Quarter of Paris.
Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile
Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile means "triumphal arc of the star," and this monument is so named because of the 12 avenues that emanate from its center. I photographed the Arc during a brief break in traffic from the cobblestones of the Champs-Élysées.
Pont du Gard
Pont du Gard is an ancient aqueduct near the town of Vers-Pont-du-Gard in Provence that crosses the Gardon River.
Van Gogh's Lavender
Lavender fields outside of St. Paul de Mausole. The building pictured here is the hospital where Vincent Van Gogh spent most of the last year of his life in an attempt to overcome mental illness. During that time, he also, remarkably, painted some of his most famous works, such as 'The Irises" and "Starry Nights."
Ferrari on the Cobbles
Ever dreamed of driving a Ferrari or a Lamborghini? Take a stroll along the Champs or near the Eiffel Tower and you'll get your chance. There are companies who offer rides for around €90.
